Grantmaker Programs

The Gateway Center for Giving presents programs and seminars for its Members designed to help grantmakers do their jobs more effectively. Programs that are open to Associate Members, non-Member grantmakers, nonprofits and the general public will be specifically noted.

Corporate Roundtable
The Corporate Roundtable provides a forum for corporate grantmakers to exchange ideas and share their unique processes, from online grant applications to strategic planning--a network of peers to be called upon as an invaluable resource. It also includes presentations on a broad range of topics of interest to a business audience.
(Open to Corporate Full Members and non-Member grantmakers)

Donor-to-Donor Programs
The Donor-to-Donor Program Model (D2D) allows the Gateway Center to put your good ideas to work.  This fee-for-service programming allows member and nonmember grantmakers to “buy” Gateway Center staff time to put on programs that are consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Gateway Center and that also meet the needs of the grantmaking community.
(This is a service for grantmakers only)

Early Childhood Education Funders Affinity Group
The Early Childhood Education Funders Affinity Group was first convened by the Gateway Center in 2012.  It is intended to help those who are interested in supporting early learning find out more about worthy initiatives, research findings, best practices, and advocacy tools. Group meetings provide learning opportunities for grantmakers and allow them to share educational grant-making experiences with others.
(Open to Full Members and non-Member grantmakers)

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Funders Affinity Group
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Funders Affinity Group was established in 2014 and is intended for participants who are interested in exploring issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, both within funding organizations and in the broader community, with the understanding that enhanced knowledge and relationships with key stakeholders can inform our work as grantmakers and collaborators.
(Open to Full Members and non-Member grantmakers)

Family Foundation Roundtable
The Family Foundation Roundtable provides an opportunity for family foundation trustees, board members, and staff to talk with each other about the joys and challenges of family philanthropy, and share expertise, experiences, questions, and concerns with others in similar situations. The informal roundtable luncheons are held 2-3 times each year.
(Open to Family Foundation Full Members, non-Member Family Foundation grantmakers and occasionally Associate Members)

Grantmaking Skills & Strategies
The Grantmaking Skills & Strategies Group focuses on training grantmakers. Skill-building includes an introduction to the common grant application, training on how to read a 990 and audited financial statement, sector-specific communication and logic models.
(Open to All Members and non-Member grantmakers)

Meet the Donor Programs
The Meet the Donor program track offers networking and education programs for nonprofits. Meet the Donor programs are held a couple times each year to provide information to nonprofits about trends in the grantmaking sector. Each program features several representatives from grantmaking organizations and are a not-to-miss networking and learning opportunity.
(Open to nonprofits, grantmakers and community members)

Women in Philanthropy & People in Philanthropy Luncheons
Women in Philanthropy and People in Philanthropy luncheons are an informal networking opportunity for individuals in the St. Louis grantmaking community. Both types of luncheons take place 2-3 times/year.
