Invest STL: Building a Stronger St. Louis by Investing in Neighborhoods

Invest STL is an systemic initiative of the St. Louis Community Foundation that aligns investment, technical assistance, and capacity building with community development organizations in order to build healthy neighborhoods. The system aims to institutionalize our region's ability to align local and national investments behind regional coordination of philanthropic investments in neighborhood revitalization projects, sustained community development initiatives, and professional development.

Join the Gateway Center for Giving for a topical program featuring Bob Herleth of Invest STL, Karl Guenther of the Public Policy Research Center at the University of Missouri St. Louis, and Loura Gilbert of Commerce Bank, as they discuss the structure and formation of Invest STL, accomplishments to date, and the role of philanthropy in fostering this new initiative.

Participants will leave this program with:
  • Information about the formation, mission and goals of the Invest STL initiative;
  • An understanding about the key roles that nonprofit community development organizations play; and
  • Funder perspectives on supporting neighborhood revitalization efforts.
