St. Louis City Equity
Indicators Project
A Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Funders (DEI)
Affinity Group Meeting
Friday, March 2, 2018
9:00am-10:30am

Selected from more than 700 applicants around the world, St. Louis was chosen in December of 2014 to participate in 100 Resilient Cities (100RC), an initiative pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation that aims to help cities around the world become more resilient to social, economic, and physical challenges that are a growing part of the 21st century.

Join the Gateway Center for Giving for a conversation with Deputy Mayor for Racial Equity and Priority Initiatives for the City of St. Louis, Nicole Hudson, and Cristina Garmendia, Equity Indicators Project Manager for 100 Resilient Cities, who will provide GCG Members with an overview of the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives being supported by St. Louis City, specifically the Equity Indicators Project--a collaborative initiative being supported as part of The Rockefeller Foundation's 100RC and the CUNY Institute for State and Local Governance, which will build an Equity Dashboard for the St. Louis region.

Participants will leave this program with:
  • Overview of 100RC's commitment to provide St. Louis with a Chief Resilience Officer, resources for drafting a Resilience Strategy, access to private sector, public sector, academic, and NGO resilience tools, and membership in a global network of peer cities to share best practices and challenges;
  • Information about the highly anticipated Equity Indicators Dashboard tool, including stakeholders involved in its development and data sources;
  • Exposure to the partnerships involved in creating the Racial Equity Indicators Dashboard, and an understanding of their approach to "radical collaboration";
  • Information about the recent 100RC CoLab, a two-day convening of experts working to help St. Louis launch an innovative economic development strategy that more equitably benefits all residents; and
  • Opportunities for funder engagement and support.
