A Skills & Strategies Program for Grantmakers

The Gateway Center for Giving welcomes nationally-recognized entrepreneur, funder, technologist, and business leader Mario Morino, author of Leap of Reason: Managing to Outcomes in an Era of Scarcity, who will discuss his commitment to fostering high-performing nonprofit organizations. Leap Ambassadors CommunityAdvisor Margot Rogers, Senior Advisor in Education Practice at The Parthenon Group, will share The Performance Imperative, a framework for funding high performance, and provide examples of how organizations are using the tool. Participants will receive complimentary copies of the book.

Participants can expect to leave this program with:
  • An understanding of Mario Morino's personal and philanthropic commitment to nonprofit performance for greater social benefit, and an exclusive update on his book Leap of Reason;
  • An overview of the Leap Ambassadors Community and why "performance matters";
  • A review of The Performance Imperative, a framework for high performance, collaboratively developed by social-sector leaders for organizations on the journey to high performance, and examples of how organizations are using it; and
  • In-depth profiles of funders using The Performance Imperative and The Performance Imperative Self-Assessment (PIOSA) to help their grantees focus on continuous improvement and high performance.
