Putting Equity at the Center:
U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation
A Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Funders Affinity Group Meeting
[Note: New Date!]
Wednesday, April 12, 2017
Over the past few years, equity has emerged as a key focus in philanthropy. Throughout the sector, foundations are incorporating the values of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) into their organizational cultures, engaging diverse populations as staff, board members and grantees; and approaching their grantmaking using a DEI lens.
Please join the Gateway Center for Giving for a program featuring our Member, U.S. Bancorp Community Development Corporation
(USBCDC), a tax-credit investor who provides innovative financing solutions to meet local community and economic development needs. Zack Boyers, USBCDC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Claire Schell, Assistant VP of Employee Experience, and Stephanie Grise, VP and Assistant General Counsel, will present information about their Purposeful Equity Agenda, a key component of USBCDC's strategy.
Participants can expect to leave this program with:
- An understanding of USBCDC's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- A discussion around the benefits, challenges, and complexities of intentionally putting equity at the center, particularly around race; and
- Suggestions for funders interested in furthering their organizational mission and deepening their impact in the St. Louis community by using a DEI lens in their institutional work.
WHEN: Wednesday, April 12, 2017; 9:00am-10:30am
