The Gateway Center for Giving presents programs and seminars for its Members designed to help grantmakers do their jobs more effectively. Programs open to GCG Associate Members, non-Member grantmakers, nonprofits, and the general public will be specifically noted.

Get on the Map initiative. We encourage all our Members to participate!

Get on the Map - a partnership of the Forum of Regional Association of Grantmakers and the Foundation Center - is a new data-sharing initiative dedicated to boosting the quality and availability of timely, detailed grantmaking data across the world.

Through this partnership, grantmakers electronically report ("eReport") their grants information.  The data is then centralized at the Foundation Center, and made accessible to all Members in the region through the Foundation Maps platform, which is a highly interactive and searchable mapping tool.  You'll be able to sort your custom search results in multiple ways, and it is FREE to participate.

Foundation Maps will provide complete and up-to-date answers to questions like:
  • Who else is funding a particular issue in our region?
  • Where are the funding gaps?
  • Who may be natural collaborators for my efforts?
  • What are the trends in the field?
We encourage all of our Members to eReport their grantmaking data to the Foundation Center. Ultimately, this initiative will improve the quality, quantity and timeliness of funder data and is useful for data-sharing and visualization.

The Foundation Center is hosting a free quarterly webinar scheduled on the second Thursday of the first month of each quarter from 1:00-2:00pm CST to help guide funders interested in Getting on the Map.  
The Foundation Center will walk through instructions for sharing all the necessary grants data to make our regional map come to life. The agenda for each webinar will include a brief introduction to the Get on the Map initiative and a map demo and instructions for how to electronically report your grants data.
